They know that they have no hope of winning the headcount, and now they want to put pressure on us in the worst way: Holcim workers.

In the middle of the most devastating pandemic for Mexico in more than a century, with more than 60 thousand officially acknowledged deaths and with Hermosillo in red traffic light due to the very high number of contagions, the Mining Union is making a call to hold a meeting with the Holcim workers on August 23 at the Hotel San Sebastián, prior to the week of the union headcount in which the Cement Union, which currently holds certification, has an ample advantage.

Several Holcim workers have shared copies of the call made by the Mining Union and expressed concern about the threats that the union headed by Napoleón Gómez Urrutia has showered upon the workers should they fail to participate in a closed-door meeting held under the cover of darkness, in which everything indicates that the union organization would be offering them gifts in exchange of voting for them in the headcount planned for August 27.

“They know that they have no hope of winning the headcount, and now they want to put pressure on us in the worst way”. One of the Holcim Apasco workers points out; the workers have told us that the miner’s people are trying to break the labor peace of the entity by all possible means.

And, as is the custom in that union organization, when they feel defeated they resort to more violent practices, actions which characterize their leader, Napoleón Gómez Urrutia, which he has been perfecting for years. Let us recall, for example, his flight from the country a few years ago, due to the diversion of 55 million dollars and that, thanks to his self-exile and then the official immunity granted to him as Senator, he was able to evade the law.
